Looter's stepfather: 'Can't tell 21-year-old what to do'

A father whose stepson has been remanded for the theft of six cans of lager during the riots last week, has told the BBC that he accepts he has "done wrong", but was surprised he was not given bail.

Karl Bratherton says his stepson, 21-year-old Dylan Whitworth, does not know why he looted the alcohol during the riots in Manchester.
