Early SAS recruits mark unit's 70th anniversary

Seventy years ago, at the height of World War II, a young British officer called David Stirling came up with the idea of forming a specialist force to operate deep behind enemy lines.

It became known as the SAS.

A secret World War II diary of the British special forces unit is being published for the first time to mark the 70th anniversary of the regiment.
