News International lawyer: Phone hacking was shameful

A barrister for the News of the World's former publisher has reiterated its "unreserved apology" for phone hacking, at an inquiry into media practices.

News International's lawyer Rhodri Davies QC's comments came as he appeared before Lord Justice Leveson's inquiry at the Royal Courts of Justice in London.

It was set up after it emerged that phone hacking at the News of the World was more widespread than first thought.
