Rail fare rises 'jeopardise growth', says campaigner

Train fares will rise by an average of 5.9% in January 2012, the Association of Train Operating Companies has said.

The organisation says the increase will pay for "new trains, faster services and better stations".

But Sophie Allain from the Campaign for Better Transport says the price increases will force people away from the railways.
