Leveson: Daily Mail defends Hugh Grant baby photos

The Leveson Inquiry into ethics in the media has heard evidence from Paul Silva, picture editor of the Daily Mail.

Mr Silva detailed to the inquiry the rules he follows on using paparazzi photos, including establishing that the subject had not been harassed and privacy had been respected.

When quizzed over photographs taken of Hugh Grant after the birth of his child, Mr Silva said the reaction from the paper was "our normal response" and there was "no inclination that there was a privacy problem" in a statement issued confirming the birth.
