Nick Clegg: We must be tough on RBS

The Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, has said that he wants to "be at least as tough this year if not more tough" on bank bonuses at RBS.

Last year, the Government limited cash bonuses at RBS to £2,000 and top executives were banned from receiving cash bonuses at all.

Mr Clegg said it would be "incomprehensible" and "totally outrageous" on the back of the announcement that a number of people are losing their jobs at RBS, if bankers there were awarded "huge, lavish bonuses".
