David Blunkett: Abu Qatada 'extraordinarily dangerous'

The European Court of Human Rights has ruled that the extremist Muslim preacher, Abu Qatada, should remain in custody in Britain and not be sent back to Jordan.

The Court said there was a risk that evidence obtained using torture would be used against him in a trial for terrorism offences.

David Blunkett was Home Secretary when Abu Qatada was taken into custody in 2002.

Speaking to the World At One's Martha Kearney, he described Mr Qatada as "extraordinarily dangerous".
