GPS tagging proposed for offenders

GPS technology could be used to impose stricter curfews on convicted criminals in England and Wales who are given community sentences.

Tagging devices containing the latest GPS equipment are currently being trialled, with the idea that they will enforce restrictions on an offender's movements.
