People in Manchester on why riots happened

A lack of support and opportunity for young people contributed to the outbreak of riots in England last summer, an independent report says.

The Riots, Communities and Victims Panel, set up last year, highlights "500,000 forgotten families".

BBC research revealed last year that rioters in Manchester came predominantly from the poorest areas of the city.

Residents from those communities told the BBC whether they agreed with the report's findings, or would put the rioting down to young people 'jumping on the bandwagon'.
