Old Olympic events revived as swimmers take 'the Plunge' for Sport Relief

A century ago, Olympic swimming events included underwater swimming, an obstacle course and an event called "the plunge" - so why did they disappear?

Mike Bushell and Olympic medal swimmers Mark Foster and Duncan Goodhew put on their Victorian bathers and took to the pool to find out, ahead of the Big Splash for Sport Relief later this month.

You can swim a Big Splash Mile for Sport Relief to help raise money for great causes in the UK and in some of the world's poorest areas.

Find a pool near you and join thousands of other people throughout the UK swimming on 27-29 April by going to bbc.co.uk/bigsplash.
