Bill Maynard's toilet seat woes

Bill Maynard has been speaking about his struggle to find a decent toilet seat.

The actor, best known for playing Heartbeat's Claude Greengrass, told BBC Radio 2's Jane Garvey that today's loo seats are not strong enough to take his weight.

The 83-year-old says finding an adequate toilet seat is particularly difficult for people who are heavy and disabled.

Maynard suffered a stroke in 2000, which left his body paralysed on one side.
