Leveson Inquiry: Brown and Murdoch give conflicting evidence

Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown has been giving evidence to the Leveson Inquiry into press standards.

On 11 June, Mr Brown told Robert Jay QC he was shocked by the allegations that he had threatened Mr Rupert Murdoch, saying there was no evidence of such a conversation.

However, Mr Murdoch, during his evidence on 25 April, said Mr Brown told him News International had declared war on his government and had no alternative but to make war on his company.
