Leveson Inquiry: Miliband urges cap on media ownership
Labour leader Ed Miliband has called for a cap on media ownership, hinting that Rupert Murdoch should be forced to reduce his stake the UK newspaper market.
Appearing before the Leveson inquiry into press standards, he suggested that the tycoon had too much influence.
Earlier in the day, former Prime Minister Sir John Major said that Rupert Murdoch warned him to change his policy on Europe.
Later that year, his Conservative party lost power to Labour, with the Sun backing his rival Tony Blair.
