Julius Caesar - Shakespeare's African play

The director of a new stage and screen adaption of Julius Caesar has spoken of the influences of the Arab Spring and African politics on his production.

Gregory Doran told the BBC's Jerry Chester how the stuggle for regime change was key to the production.

Set in a modern African state, the production features a distinguished cast of black actors. The film was shot on location in a disused shopping centre in North West London and in the RSC's theatre at Stratford-upon-Avon.

The audio interview also features the producer of the film version, John Wyver, and Patterson Joseph who plays Brutus.

Julius Caesar airs on BBC Four on Sunday 24th June at 8pm
