Man killed as floods cause chaos

A man has died after being swept away in flood water in Shropshire, as rain caused widespread flooding in the Midlands.

Severe weather also caused flooding in the Newcastle area.

Marc Burton and Paul Somerville managed to capture dramatic video footage of lightning striking the Tyne Bridge.

Meanwhile flooding in Belfast closed many of the city's streets, leaving hundreds of homes without power.
