Police facing challenges over cuts, says Chief Inspector of Constabulary

Almost 6,000 police officers are being cut from front-line roles as forces reduce spending.

A report by the chief inspector of police for England and Wales has said for now the cuts are being made without the public noticing but there may be challenges ahead.

Sir Denis O'Connor, Chief Inspector of Constabulary, said a large reduction in non-front line staff would be one of the greatest challenges.
