Olympic Torch relay: Highlights from its tour of Britain

Whatever the weather, over the last two months millions of people have turned out to see the Olympic flame on its 8,000 mile journey.

Inspirational torchbearers have carried the flame in many ways, including on an abseiling rope, a cable car and a punt, bringing the excitement of the Games to over a thousand different neighbourhoods.
