Life on board nuclear submarine HMS Triumph

The nuclear attack submarine HMS Triumph has returned home to Plymouth after patrolling the straits east of Suez.

The BBC's defence correspondent Jonathan Beale spent four days living on board the submarine for its final leg, from Gibraltar back to the UK.

He watched the crew of HMS Triumph carry out firing drills for her Tomohawk cruise missiles - the same weapons that were used in Libya - and her Spearfish torpedo.

And Able Seaman Chris Davies showed him how confined the living quarters were, with some crew having to share bunks no bigger than a coffin.
