Police scuffles at DWP disability protest

Scuffles have broken out between disability rights campaigners and police in front of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) building in Westminster.

Disability rights campaigners were also protesting outside IT firm Atos, which carries out "fit for work" assessments for the government.

Campaigners said the firm's tests for people on disability allowances were "damaging and distressing".

But Atos, a sponsor of the Paralympic Games, said it ensures its service is "professional" and "compassionate".

Protesters who got inside the DWP building have since been removed.
