Is it getting easier to buy a house in the UK?

It is now cheaper to buy rather than rent a property, according to new figures from Halifax.

It says low interest rates and a drop in house prices have made buying a home more affordable.

But many potential first-time buyers still struggle to secure the finance needed to get onto the housing ladder.
