Greater Manchester Police chief lays flowers for PCs
The chief constable of Greater Manchester Police has visited the scene in Mottram where two of his officers suffered fatal injuries while on duty on Tuesday.
Sir Peter Fahy again praised the bravery of PCs Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes and told how they had gone above and beyond the call of duty during their time with the force.
He said that they were "two wonderful human beings, two very dedicated officers" who left behind "two very proud families obviously devastated by their loss".
Dale Cregan, 29, has been arrested on suspicion of their murders. He is also being detained on suspicion of the murders of Mark Short in May and David Short in August.
