John Terry appears before FA disciplinary panel

The former England captain John Terry has appeared before an FA disciplinary panel at Wembley.

He is accused of racially abusing QPR defender Anton Ferdinand. Mr Terry denies the charge and was cleared over the incident in a criminal case earlier this year.

On Sunday evening, Terry announced his retirement from international football after 78 appearances, saying that the FA's decision to pursue charges against him meant his position with England had become 'untenable'.

Dan Roan reports.
