Jimmy Savile allegations: BBC to investigate claims

The BBC has promised to examine allegations of sexual abuse made against the late Jimmy Savile, once police have finished their investigation.

As a growing number of women come forward saying they were victims of the presenter, Director General George Entwistle apologised "for what they've had to endure here".
