Government pledges £50m to commemorate WWI centenary

More than £50m has been allocated for a "historic" commemoration of the centenary of the start of World War I, David Cameron has announced.

Commemorations will be held to mark significant dates in the conflict, up to the anniversary of Armistice Day in 2018.

Mr Cameron said he wanted to ensure the sacrifices of the war were remembered for many years to come.
