A mother and four children have been killed in an Essex house fire.

Sabah Usmani, who was a doctor, and her sons Sohaib, 11, and Rayan, six, and daughter Hira, 13, died at their end-of-terrace home in Harlow at 01:45 BST.

Assistant Chief Constable Gary Beautridge of Essex Police said the father was in the property and "fought hard to save his family in appalling conditions".
