MP - Questions BBC Director General must answer on Savile

A special one-hour BBC Panorama will look at how and why a BBC Newsnight investigation into allegations against Jimmy Savile was dropped before broadcast.

Two independent inquiries have been set up by the BBC into what happened.

The Culture, Media and Sport Select committee will be taking evidence from, among others, Director General George Entwistle.

The committee chairman, John Whittingdale, said there are hard questions the BBC's director general will need to answer.
