Hillsborough families welcome Bettison resignation

Sir Norman Bettison has resigned as chief constable of West Yorkshire Police, saying an inquiry into his role after the Hillsborough tragedy was "a distraction" to the force.

Margaret Aspinall, who lost her 18-year-old son James at Hillsborough, is chair of the Hillsborough Families Support Group.

Sir Norman has denied claims he helped "concoct" a false version of events.

Margaret told BBC News Sir Norman Bettison resignation was "a good day for the families".
