Snow leads to crashes and delays

Snow has fallen in parts of southern England and north-eastern Scotland, causing accidents and delays.

Dozens of schools are closed in Essex, Hertfordshire and Aberdeenshire and at least 10 people have been injured in crashes in Essex.

There was prolonged snowfall in Newcastle and Northumbria Police has advised road users to take extra care.
