Design Museum showcases the ordinary items that shaped our world
The Design Museum in London is celebrating the ordinary items it believes have shaped the world we live in today.
From the first hairdryer to motorway signs, from the angle-poise table lamp to the Apple iMac, the exhibition picks out designs that tell the story of design.
Curator Gemma Curtin showed a few of her favourites to BBC News.
