'Common sense needed over criminal records'

Three judges in the Court of Appeal have ruled that the law which requires people to disclose all previous convictions to employers as part of a criminal records check is a breach of human rights.

They were giving judgement in the case of a man who received two police cautions when he was 11.

The government is to seek leave to appeal against the ruling.

Mike Pemberton, the solicitor who acted for the man bringing the appeal, explains why the case came to court.
