Horsemeat scandal: Minister calls for more tests on provenance

The government has warned that there may be more bad news to come in the investigation of the contamination of beef products, once the results of tests are revealed.

The Environment Secretary Owen Paterson was speaking after an emergency meeting in London with food retailers and suppliers.

He said retailers hold the ultimate responsibility for ensuring there is no horsemeat in their products.
