Royal Marines tackle Arctic Circle training

The Arctic region is becoming increasingly important, as huge oil and gas reserves are uncovered by melting polar ice-caps.

Royal Marines are carrying out contingency training, in Norway's Arctic Circle along with the Dutch and Norwegian forces.

While there is no particular threat to the area, it is considered to be strategically important for the UK.
