Nick Clegg: 'Wrong to abandon press regulation talks'
The deputy prime minister has expressed his 'disappointment and surprise' at the breakdown of cross-party talks over press regulation.
Nick Clegg said that discussions between himself, the prime minister and Ed Miliband had "been making real progress" as late as Wednesday night.
David Cameron ended the talks on Tuesday, saying the gap between them was "too great" to bridge. He will announce his own plans for a Royal Charter on Monday.
