Press regulation deal struck by parties

Politicians from all the main parties at Westminster say a deal has been struck to formulate a new system of regulating the press.

Talks went on late into the night in an attempt to hammer out an agreement.

Labour and the Liberal Democrats say the system will be protected by legislation but the Conservatives insist there will be no new law that either mentions the press or the new press regulator.
