Teachers debate curriculum changes at conference

The government's revised national curriculum for schools in England have been criticised as narrow and outdated by delegates at the National Union of Teachers annual conference in Liverpool.

Teachers have said the planned changes place too much emphasis on the core academic subjects, with more focus on simply learning facts and less on developing analytical skills.
