Steep rise in number using food banks 'shocking', says Trust

Figures from the UK's main provider of food banks show the number of people using its services more than doubled last year.

The Government says there are adequate safety nets in the benefits system for those needing help, but the Trussell Trust describes the figures as "shocking".
