Family call for murder public inquiry after police failings
The family of a woman, murdered by her ex-partner, is calling for a public inquiry into how police handle domestic violence cases, after a report concluded Essex Police missed opportunities to protect her.
Maria Stubbings, of Chelmsford in Essex, was strangled with a dog lead in 2008 by Marc Chivers, who had already killed a previous girlfriend.
Her brother Manuel Fernandez says he does not want her death to "be in vain".
June Kelly reports.
