Wind farms were' built too close to homes'
Local communities are to be given more powers to block onshore wind farms, but also greater incentives to accept them, the government has said.
Robert Keeler, member of North Kincardine Community Council, lives close to Meikle Carew wind farm.
He told the Today programme: "Windfarms are okay in the right place, but they're too close to homes, and that's what one of our biggest points was."
Anne Hopkins, from Delabole, a village in Cornwall which hosted the UK's first windfarm, said: "Some people were upset by it, but on the whole I think people have accepted it."
First broadcast on the Today programme on Thursday 6 June.
