Lawrence's mother to meet May amid smear claims

The mother of the murdered teenager Stephen Lawrence is to meet the Home Secretary following allegations that police tried to discredit the family after the stabbing 20 years ago.

It is thought that Theresa May will seek to assure Doreen Lawrence that the two inquiries set up to examine the allegations will thoroughly investigate the claims.
