Royal baby bulletin displayed at palace

A formal bulletin confirming that the Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a baby boy has been displayed on an easel at Buckingham Palace.

The message, signed by key medical staff, was taken by a royal aide from St Mary's Hospital in Paddington where the baby was born.

The presentation of a note, confirming the gender of the child, has been a long-standing tradition for royal births.

Sophie Raworth and the Queen's former press secretary Charles Anson commentated on the ceremony.
