What does the royal baby mean for the monarchy?

Campaigners for the abolition of the monarchy say the birth of the new prince has raised new questions about Britain and its democratic values.

But others insist the birth will boost the popularity of the royal family which according to opinion polls is already high following the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the royal wedding.
