Right to die: 'Most doctors don't want to go near this'

The families of late locked-in syndrome sufferer, Tony Nicklinson, and paralysed road accident victim, Paul Lamb, have lost their right-to-die challenges at the Court of Appeal.

Mr Nicklinson had wanted the right to ask a doctor to end his life, while Mr Lamb wants the law changed so he could kill himself with a doctor's help.

Dr Andrew Fergusson, from Care not Killing, welcomed the ruling, saying that "because the law is so clear and the ethical tradition is so clear, most doctors don't want to go near this."
