Women held in Peru jail on drugs trafficking accusation
The mother of a Scottish teenager held in Peru on suspicion of trafficking over a million pounds worth of cocaine says she had no idea her daughter had even travelled to the country.
19 year old Melissa Reid was arrested in Lima on Tuesday along with Michaella McCollum from Dungannon, County Tyrone, while trying to board a flight to Madrid.
The authorities said they found more than 11 kilos of cocaine, thought to be worth around £1.5m, in the luggage of the two women.
