Public consultation into stop and search powers

Stop and search powers have been described as a vital tool in the fight against crime, but a public consultation is under way in England and Wales to make sure that they are being used fairly.

About a million "stops" are made every year but fewer than one in 10 lead to an arrest.

Jenny Hill went out on patrol in Birmingham to see what the procedure is like for both the police, and people on the street.
