National Service: Should it be brought back?

All young people between 18 and 26 years old should have to perform a year of military or charitable service, according to one MP.

Conservative MP Philip Hollobone says the reintroduction of national service, scrapped 50 years ago, would improve physical fitness and discipline in young people.

Caring for the elderly, working with the armed forces or emergency services are among the options he thinks should be included.

Jake Morrison, one of Britain's youngest councillors, and Bob Croxton, a former prisoner who now works with young people, spoke to the BBC about the idea.
