Nairobi attack: Four Britons confirmed dead, says Hammond

The British Defence Secretary, Philip Hammond, has confirmed that four British nationals are among the dead following an attack by armed militants at a shopping centre in the Kenyan capital Nairobi.

At least 69 people have been killed since the attack began on Saturday.

Mr Hammond chaired a meeting of Cobra, the government's emergency response committee, on Monday. He also said the UK "stands ready" to provide more assistance to Kenya.
