Damian McBride 'sorry and ashamed'

In an exclusive interview with BBC Newsnight Gordon Brown's former special adviser Damian McBride has admitted he is ashamed of his actions whilst working for the former prime minister.

Mr McBride told Newsnight's Jeremy Paxman that his briefings to the press could have cost other people their jobs and for that he was sorry.
