Guardian's Alan Rusbridger defends Snowden leaks

Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger has defended the newspaper's decision to publish secret files leaked by the US intelligence contractor Edward Snowden and said further stories could be printed in the future.

His comments come after the new director general of MI5, Andrew Parker, said such revelations risked causing enormous harm.

But Mr Rusbridger told the BBC's World at One programme that his paper's coverage of British and US surveillance had prompted "necessary debate".
