'Stay well away' from trees in storm

Weather forecasters have warned of stormy conditions in England and Wales on Sunday night and Monday.

Some headlines have said that it may be the worst storm for many years.

During The Great Storm of 1987, millions of trees in the UK were destroyed.

Jill Attenborough, head of development at the Woodland Trust explained the devastation the storm caused to the environment: "Back in '87, 15 million trees were lost and half a million trees and public spaces were damaged, so it was devastating."

"It's very exciting to be in a wooded place in high winds but we do advise people to stay well away," she added.
