Government 'failing nature targets,' say charities

Britain's wildlife is not being protected because the government is failing to meet its own targets, a report from group of charities suggests.

The group of 41 organisations, including The Wildlife Trusts and the RSPB, says the government is failing to deliver a third of its commitments to the environment

Among the concerns listed in Nature Check 2013 are the protection of green belt land, farm animal welfare and reversing wildlife declines.

Nick Beake reports.
